School!

Melanie started school! (Preschool!) I have been slacking on posting about her first day of school, because I was planning to throw her a back to school party. But then we ended up going to several birthday parties and family get togethers over that week, it just didn't happen. (And with Brandon's birthday next week, it seems weird to do it now. But, ironically, I have all the "stuff", so I'll have to do it sometime. It will just have to be a surprise of some sort). Anyhow, Melanie started school on August 16th! It's 2 days a week, right around the corner from my house, and she already had a friend in the class prior to the first day. She had NO problems going!

This year she has to have a backpack, so I got to take a cute "first day of school with my backpack" picture. Isn't she adorable?

She loved her first day. She learned the letter "T", sang songs, played games, and just have a fun time! Later in the day, we baked... and both of the girls did all their baking with their backpacks on. It was just too cute from the back side. :)

For the first 4 classes, they brought teddy bears to school with them. Yesterday, the bears graduated from preschool (with a little ceremony) and then the kids went on a bear hunt. She was an official bear hunter. Too fun!

She got to do show and tell this week. She brought a Fancy Nancy book, her tutu, and her Curious George monkey to class to show everyone. So far, Melanie has really enjoyed preschool. Noelle is sad when Melanie is gone, but I think she is getting use to the idea of having mom all to herself for a few hours twice a week.
