Lava Lamp

Time for another science experiment. (Sure, sure, that makes at least 4 this week, but what can I say, I like science. We'll blame the engineering gene in me). This one is super cool. If the other experiments didn't tempt you, I have a feeling this one will.

We made our own little lava lamp.

Materials:

Clear Bottle, Water, Vegetable Oil, Food Coloring, and Alka-Selizer.

Method:

1. Fill your bottle about 1/4 the way with water. Fill the remaining with oil, leaving a little space at the top.

2. After the water and oil have completely separated, drop a few drops of food coloring in (this is kind of fun to watch).

3. Cut your Alka-Selizer into smaller pieces (but big pieces give you a more dramatic result, so don't cut them too small)

4. When you are completely ready, drop a piece of Alka-Selizer into the bottle and enjoy!

So, here we go. The girls are ready...

Noelle is mesmerized.

Isn't that just CoOl?

And for your viewing pleasure, I have a little video. Enjoy!
