Christmas

The night before Christmas, the girls made Santa a special cookie. The recipe made exactly one Santa sized cookie. I let them make the cookie in the living room while watching a Christmas movie. Melanie kept thinking she heard Santa, so we also kept looking out the doors and windows to see if we could spy him. (just in case).

The girls also wrote letters for Santa. Melanie wrote hers all by herself (though I did spell the words out for her).

(I think she did a really good job) Early Christmas morning, Melanie got up and snuck out to the living room. I caught her checking out her stocking. I heard her get up and was waiting for her to come in excited and tell us it was Christmas. When this didn't happen, I figured I better check on her. It is a good thing I had. I told her she better wake up her dad and sister. Brandon (who was already wake) did a good job pretending to sleep so she could wake him. Here is a picture of them seeing the tree for the first time (or Melanie's second... but who is counting, right?)

Looks like Santa brought the girls bikes!

And toothbrushes in their stockings (along with other things). Have you ever seen two girls so excited about their toothbrushes? Noelle is actually hugging hers in the next picture.

The girls got quite a few books.

Dad got some clothes. This fun shirt is not only stylish, but ensures a back rub (it came complete with some cars for the girls to drive on his back with).

After church, the girls tried out their bikes in the back yard.

Then we headed to Grandpa and Grandma George's house to celebrate Christmas.

Finally we ended up at Grandma Traci and Papa Terry's house. This is where Brandon traded me in for a few plastic dolls to snuggle with. I'm not quite sure I understand this because I believe I'm softer. But, whatever. :)

Here is my mom (Grandma Traci) with my kiddos.

My Uncle Timmy, Aunt Connie, and Cousin Casey were at my mom's visiting from Texas. Here is a picture of me with my beautiful cousin, Casey. She is a Junior in high school.

And here I am with my Uncle and Aunt.

We have a very Merry Christmas! I hope everyone else did too!
