Meeting a Country Star

Monday we met country singer Craig Campbell at our friend's the Fairchild's house.

How did this come by be?

Background story:

Joe and Jan Fairchild have 5 kids (all adults). The youngest is Jeff Fairchild. Jeff Fairchild is a good kid, but definitely has his independent side. :o) Over the last year, Jeff had decided he was going to go on a mission and he did! He is currently serving in the Charlotte, North Carolina Mission.

Before leaving, while listening to KNIX, Jeff heard about a contest for the Ultimate Family Man. Jeff nominated his dad by writing a 150-750 word essay on how his dad is the Ultimate Family Man. After he left on his mission, his family received a phone call telling them they had won. The prize: A private Craig Campbell Concert in the comfort of their home and all one month's bills paid up to $2500.

Above is a picture of the Family Man Joe with Mr. Campbell himself. We were so lucky that the Fairchild's invited us to this rare and fun concert.
Craig play 4 songs, all wonderful! He is a very nice man, and I appreciated that he took time away from his family to honor others. This contest was his idea and ultimately, he is the one that picked Joe for this honored prize.

As you can tell, everyone enjoyed themselves!

After the concert, Craig took pictures with everyone that wanted pictures taken, signed autographs, and just talked with us. He was a really neat person. I may have to go out and buy his record.

Thank you Fairchild's for inviting us to your special family night. Thank you Jeff for recongizing how special your father is and writing such a wonderful essay. Thank you Craig Campbell for the wonderful preformance.

How fun! Country is my favorite, but apparently I haven't listened to it in a very long time because I don't recognize the name at all.
