And a Little Apple Pie...

... Filling!

I'm a huge fan of the Bountiful Baskets co-op. Not only do I get my fruits and veggies at a really good price, but I'm forced to change my menu and try new things. I love cooking, and I love the challenge. I have learned over the last 9 months (since I re-started using bountiful baskets) that we love pomegranates, squash, Jerusalem artichoke, Japanese radish, Swish Chard, and many other random things I had never tried before. I have also learned homemade sauces are MUCH better than their store bought counter parts, and have made and jarred many because of the abundance of tomatoes I have recieved.

Lately I have recieved a TON of apples and we just weren't eating them fast enough... so last night Brandon and I jarred 11 pints of homemade apple pie filling. If that's isn't "all american", I don't know what is!
