My Little Comedian

So, I have been saving up "Melanie Quotes" for a little while now, and I have quite a bit of them. But they have to go on the record. Sometimes she really cracks me up, other times I wonder "did I really want her to learn how to talk". But I always love her! Enjoy!

Melanie: "We are having peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, with homemade bread!!!"
Me: "Yes!" Melanie: " And homemade jam that you made!!!" Me: "Yes!" Melanie: "And homemade peanut butter that you made!!!" Me: "No, I bought the peanut butter at the store" Melanie (sounding really sad): "Oh!" And that's when my sandwich apparently became substandard.

Melanie: "I'm Cinderella" Me: "Oh Good, so you can help me clean the house?" Melanie: "Mom, you are now Cinderella. I am Ariel. She just plays all the time".

After breaking her bed for the second day in the row, Melanie tells me "Mom, my Ariel doll was jumping on the bed too hard, and she broke it." hmm...

I made waffles for dinner the other day:

Melanie: "Are these waffles from scratch?" Me: "Yes they are!" Melanie: "Wow, lots of stuff is from scratch!"

Melanie loves jumping on her bed... The other day she was listening to Disney music, which was playing Aladdin's "One Jump", and jumping her hardest. We had the following conversation:

Me: "Melanie, don't jump on your bed. If it breaks, I'm not fixing it today".

Melanie: "that's okay (jump jump), I'll just sleep on yours" (Umm... I don't think so!)

I gave the gals breakfast the other day, and was putting the dishes I had used into the dish washer, when Melanie says to me "Mom, you need to clean this kitchen. It's a mess! I think you are slacking!" (wow! and in my defense, it *was* pretty clean, I just needed to sweep and mop

The other day, Melanie was playing with her wooden Cinderella doll (it's like a paper doll with clothes, but it's made of wood and is magnetic). I saw that she had put a wedding dress on Cinderella, so we had the following conversation:

Me: "Is that Cinderella's Wedding Dress?" Melanie: "No, That's Cinderella's *MARRIAGE* dress. At the end of the movie, I saw her, and she was married, and she was wearing this dress".

Last weekend we went to a family reunion that was at a camp site. Upon using an outhouse for the first time, Melanie runs to me and says "mommy mommy! I used the potty, but your don't flush it! the Tinkles say right inside." Then she stuck up her nose and said "It's kinda Gross!"

Melanie: "Mom, when you make things, it's from scratch... when dad does, he just gets them from the store and it's called brand new".

Today, I took the girls to the grocery store with me to get a few items. While I was there, I saw the pudding, sitting there in their boxes, and decided to give in and get an Oreo Pudding. Recently I have been making most everything from scratch, so this was my lazy dessert night. Well, after dinner, I dished everyone a little pudding (which I made while the girls were napping today). Melanie takes a bite, and looks up, and says "Who made this". Brandon replies "Mommy did". She says (with a very upset tone to her voice) "No, Mommy bought it at the store, opened up a box, and then it was made. Someone at the STORE made it. They put the cookies and the grey stuff in the box and mommy just took them out". (I guess I was caught!)
