More Indoor Fun

Today was full of more indoor fun activities. (Yes, we do leave the house from time to time, in fact, we went to the rec center this morning, but since we send the majority of our day inside, that's what I tend to post about.)

Today we had a picnic! Indoor picnics are a lot of fun. They got to sit on a "picnic blanket" (i.e. beach towel) and watch a Disney Sing Along while they ate their lunch.

After naps, we made indoor kites. I got the idea from a "new to me" blog I found: www.icanteachmychild.com There are a ton of fun ideas on this site, so if you get a chance, you should check it out. Anyhow, back to the indoor kites. The girls got to decorate them any way they wanted. They colored and then added stickers.

Then we turned the piece of papers (one for each of us, including mom), into kites with tape, a straw, yarn, and a tail. Here they are modeling their kites (if you want better instructions, please let me know and I'll email you a site that has a diagram. I'm having a hard time with copy/paste)

And then flying them.

Then we had Grilled PIZZA for dinner. I know that's not an indoor activity, but it was still worth mentioning, because it was good!

Then we had family game night. I made this fun little game today. It is like tic-tac-toe, but with Arctic animals. Fun little piece of information, the girls were playing without any help from us... and Noelle beat Melanie 3 times, in a row! Seriously!

I put Velcro on the board and pieces so that they don't move. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Then the adults played, "best 2 out of 3". I creamed Brandon... ironically, I won the same way twice. He didn't learn the first time, I take it. Here I am showing off!

Before bed, we had time for one more game... fish! This fish game was a gift to Melanie for her birthday, and I love it. The whole family can play.

I think it was a really good day!
