The Last Day...

Another year has flown by. All I can say is "wow"! We have learned a lot, grown quite a bit, and added a special member to the family. Overall, 2011 was a good year. So, we had to celebrate. Or course, that meant party hats! Here are the handsome men in our family sporting their hats:

Apparently it was hard for both of them :)
Here are all the party animals. I can say that, because I didn't do a lot of partying Saturday night. I spent most of the time trying to calm down a screaming baby, who uncharacteristically continued to scream for quite some time (usually I can get him to sleep at night by 7:30/8:00 and he is out for the rest of the night... but not THAT night. He must have known something was going on.) So... alas, no party for mom.
But dad and the girls had a good time partying. They played games, finished puzzles, had yummy food, and lit off fireworks. They even got to stay up until 9 pm, which is really really late for them.

I eventually got Oliver to sleep around 9:30 or 10:00. By then, my head and back hurt so bad, that the second I sat on the couch I was out! I woke up at 2:00 am and went to my bed. sigh. Not the best way to start the year. But I guess you could say it can only get better, right?

We haven't finished writing all our resolutions for 2012, but I have reviewed our progress from the goals we made in 2011.

Noelle:

Learn her body parts - Done!

Learn animal sounds - Done!

Learn to talk - Done!

Learn her colors - still needs a little work

Melanie:

Say prayers at least twice a day - still needs a little work

Read scriptures daily - Done!

Spell her name - Done!

Ride her bike - Done!

Be a Good Friend - Done!

Listen Better - still needs a little work

Mom:

Run a marathon - Done!

Read the entire Book of Mormon - Done!

Try 1 new recipe a week - Done!

Attend Temple Monthly - About 1/2 done

Make Healthy Snacks - Done!

Dad: Well, frankly, mom wrote most of dad's resolutions, so he didn't complete... well, most of them. But I blame the fact that they are more or less resolutions I had written for him and not decided by himself. (He has truly accomplished a lot this year). So, this year I am having him pick his own resolutions. Actually, those are the ones that I'm waiting for before I post our 2012 goals.

I think overall, we did a great job. Bring on 2012! Happy New Years!

Oooh, party hats to ring in the new year is a really good idea. Think I can remember that in a year?
