Melanie has been cracking me up lately. She is definitely full of personality and imagination. Lately, she has been really into beauty, princesses, and all things fancy. After Halloween, she has worn her crown daily. Sometimes with her Fancy Nancy costume... sometimes with other outfits.
We painted with watercolors a few days ago. I left the room to get some other paints and paper out, and when I came back, Melanie was all glamored up. She had painted her nails...
And her face.
Pucker up!
The irony to this is that I do not wear makeup. Where she gets this fascination is beyond me... but she is definitely into makeup. She likes to pretend to put it on all the time. But this would be the first time I left the room and came back to her painting her lips. :)
This afternoon, I went into Melanie's room to get her up from her nap, and I found her rocking horse... dressed up like a princess. I laughed so hard, I nearly forgot to get a picture. I'm glad I didn't.
Melanie's Favorites:
Color: Red!
Activity: playing dress up, and making up shows!
Question: Why!
Melanie Says:
Melanie has been asking a lot of questions lately about the baby. I think my favorite was this morning. She asked me where the baby brother was. I said "you know". And she says "He's in your tummy... did you eat him?" Silly Girl! She also asked me this morning if mommies can still jump when they have a baby in their tummy. I showed her it was still possible with a small bounce.
Melanie: "I'm taking care of my baby" (she points to Noelle who smiles up at me from a laundry basket) "She came out of my tummy, and now she is my baby". Noelle: "Wahh!"
Melanie: "Mom, when you were little... a really really little baby, you were in my tummy and I was the mommy" Pause. "And then you cried a lot because you were cold".
Melanie: "Noelle is a nice sister! Heavenly Father made her because we want nice sisters".
Me: "Melanie, what's the matter?" Melanie: "I want to wear shoes, but I don't have any that match this dress" (as she wears a purple dress up dress) Me: "Why don't you put on your white sparkling shoes". Melanie: "No, mom, they don't match, my dress is purple. I need purple shoes". It's rough being a princess.
I love my little Princess Melanie.

Your girls are so funny. I still can't believe how different they look, which makes me so anxious to see what this little boy is going to look like!
I love your Halloween shirt. I had to show Jason - so clever!
