This took place yesterday.
Noelle: "Melanie, can you draw me a Pinkie Pie Pony".
Melanie (excitement in her voice): "Oh yes! I would LOVE to do that for you"
Long silence
Noelle (whiny voice): "Mmmmellaniiee (not sure how she makes that name seem so long), That doesn't look like Pinkie Pie." She runs into a different room, evidently gets something with the pony in question on it, and returns. "She looks like this"
Melanie (still confident): "This was just my practice one. I'll try it again. But remember, I'm just learning"
She draws the following (Pinkie Pie Pony, Twilight Sparkle Pony, and Rainbow Dash Pony).
Noelle: "Melanie! You are a good drawer"
Later in the day, while Melanie and I are on our way to Walmart (Not a good idea on the day before school, but I digress).
Melanie: "When I grow up, I want to be an artist and a hair stylist. My husband will work a lot, and I'll need something to do, so I'll take my daughter with me to people's houses and make their hair beautiful. Maybe I'll draw good pictures too. (silence). Do you think when I'm older I can draw a good Pinkie Pie Pony?"
Me: "I think you can do anything that you decide to practice."
Melanie: "I liked my Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash, but I think I need to practice Pinkie Pie"
Me: "Well, perhaps it's because she ended up with 5 legs! How does a pony run with 5 legs?"
Melanie (giggling): "Yes, next time I'll give her 6!"
Silence
Melanie: "I liked my picture, but I don't think they looked like My Little Ponies. I think they looked more like My Little Puppies!"
And all I could do was laugh!
