The girls have spent the last year in a neat music program called "Let's Play Music". This program is an ingenious way to get the kids involved in, introduced to, and excited about music. They are having fun and yet learning music theory and skills at the same time. It's a 3 year program, and after each year, there is a special concert. Saturday was that concert. The girls were able to show off their 1st year skills and also preview the things that they will be learning over the next two years. Each child got the opportunity to show off their musicals on the bells or autoharp as well. It was a lot of fun. Here are a few pictures from Saturday.
Melanie (and two friends) played the "hop" part of the song "A Frog Went a Hopping" while the other kids sang the song.
The kids are singing the song "I Like Bugs!" (which teaches them different rhythms)
Noelle just finished up playing the "ding ding dong" part of "Are you Sleeping Brother John" while the other kids sang the song.
The concert was really neat. Both girls are extra excited to continue on and get to play the piano next year. The third year students got to perform pieces that they had composed themselves, and they were amazing!!! I'm really excited about this program and so happy to see the girls' excitement with it as well. Way to go girlies!
