The last week of school was a lot of fun for Ms. Melanie! On Tuesday, she became a wizard and went to a party to celebrate with a handful of other kindergartners in her class. These "Word Wizards" where the kids that not only memorized and were able to read the site words from kindergarten, but also the 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade site words (the amount of stars on their cap indicating which level they got to). Melanie learned them all. The wand indicated how many of the Dolch word lists she learned and successfully passed off without any mistakes. She triumphed! I'd say these kiddos worked hard and deserved their party! Way to go, Melanie!
Wednesday was their last field trip, to the park next to the school. Melanie played in the sprinkler and got soaked, but Mom planned for that and sent her to school with a change of clothing and a towel. She told me later, that her underthings got wet and that I forgot to plan for that. oops! Truth is, mom doesn't think of everything!
