The Awesomeness of Being Oliver

Being Oliver has to be an awesome thing.  Being Oliver's mom has to be the next best thing.  He is constantly making me smile and surprising me with his creativity... even when it gets him into trouble.  Here are some recent pictures of him.

Who says dress up clothing is just for girls?  A witch's hat quickly turns into a wizards hat... and in his hand (though it may be hard to see) a magic wand.  He had this on for hours that day.  It was fun!
Yesterday, Oliver and I were hanging out at home, when I got a call from a friend inviting us to walk to the park and feed the ducks with them.  Of course we said yes... and to the park we went.  It was a good day for a walk, and Oliver LOVED the park.
Especially the feeding the ducks park.
It must have wore him out, because he went down for his nap without any argument and I had to actually wake him up to go get his sister.  He was so cute, snuggled up to all his "friends" (toy planes from the movie Planes).
For Christmas, my mom and her husband gave Oliver a tool bench.  The box has sat in my room since then, waiting for me to put it together... which I finally did this morning.  I will not admit to how long it took me to do this, but claim that it wasn't because of my abilities, but due to the extra "help" I received.  It seems that Oliver was more keen on the idea of "knocking" the screws that I was trying to put in then on me actually screwing them.  He kept moving my screw driving away so he could hammer them with the toy hammer.  I just let him, as it was pretty funny.  Eventually, the thing was built.  Then the real fun began.  I love that Oliver got a chair out of the toy room to make himself more comfortable while he "worked".

The kids were playing and fighting over this new toy.  I was in the kitchen listening to them, about to say something about the fighting (they both wanted the hammer) when I over heard this gem:

Oliver (to Noelle): "Here you go!  Here you go, Princess!  You do it"

At first, I wasn't certain I heard him right.  But it became clear that I had when Noelle left the room moments later and I heard "Princess!!! Princess!!! Where are you?  I want to play with you!"

Oliver is definitely a keeper.  I love him to pieces.
