Fun things this week

We have done fun things this week.  Sometimes time moves so fast, I forget all the fun things we actually did... so here is a little recap.

On Wednesday, we had a tea party.  I invited all the girls from Noelle's learning club and one bigger sister.  So, there were 6 fun girls over for lunch, a craft, and a game.  

 Here they are!

 For the craft, the decorated the cover of a note book.  Sofia was too cute, she looked at all the note books and informed me that this must have costed a LOT of money.  I let her know that it didn't because everything is on sale right now for back to school.  I loved her concern.

 On Thursday, a good friend, Anna, invited us over for a little fun at her house.  We made Flubber, which was really cool.  I will be making it again!  Definitely!

 My girls had such a great time playing with Clara and Hazel that they really didn't want to leave.  Melanie informed me that she wishes she could live with them.  ha ha!

Friday morning, my plans to do all the laundry were completely derailed when all of my laundry baskets were commandeered.  It's a good thing these guys are cute and lovable! 

 Eventually they went outside.  Out of now where I heard "help, help, help".  Noelle was yelling because apparently she lost momentum on her bike. Next thing I know, Oliver was giving her a push and she was off and riding again.  Poor Oliver, this became a bit of a game for Noelle and he ended up pushing her quite often.  I do have to admit that I was glad that he is such a super brother and took over the task without question.  Good job, Oliver.

 In between pushes, he got a little riding time himself!

This week has definitely been a good one.  I can't wait to see what next week brings!

Big Promotion

I can finally share this with the world, as I finally heard the heart beat today.  It feels like it took FOREVER for my appointment to come.   I'm due February 2nd.

Book Club Fun

Friday was kids book club day (actually, it was suppose to be Wednesday, but I got a horrible bug and had to postpone it).  We had a lot of fun making crafts that had to do with knights and castles (and we made crowns too, because well... if you are going to talk about castles, crowns are a must!)

Here is that book the older kids read (the younger kids get to pick whatever book they want to goes with the theme (or doesn't go with the theme if they want)).  The older girls really went to town talking about this book.  It was fun to see them get really excited about the discussion.  It makes it all worth it, for sure!

Camping bear Big Lake!

Last week we went CAMPING!!!!  We went to Big Lake area and enjoyed much cooler temperatures and some space to roam.  It was such a treat to have to wear long sleeves and sweaters.  The kids were in paradise.

 The kids loved that daddy brought his Samurai and took them on several rides exploring...

 Mom loved it too, because it gave her some reading time.

 Oliver is my future chef.  He really enjoyed helping dad cook.

The kids have already started begging to go back.  It was a lot of fun.

Kanosh (Independence Day and Family Reunion)

The 5th of July marked the George Family Reunion in Kanosh, Utah.  We decided to go up a day early and enjoy the 4th of July festivities in Fillmore.  I'm so glad we did.  It was a lot of fun.  The day started off with a parade.  The kids have never really been to a parade of this kind.  Candy?  Being thrown?  Everywhere?  WHAT?

 I even let Oliver have a sucker (and I'm completely opposed to suckers.  I HATE them).  He was happy.

 After the parade, we went to the park to enjoy the remaining festivities.  They had booths with games, and food and fun.  It was definitely a good time.  Noelle and Oliver found this giant beach ball and LOVED it.

 Then someone hooked it up to a hose... and they loved it even more.

 Around 2, they had free games for the children.  Everyone was put into their age groups for maximum fun.

 And all the kids participating got their faces painted.  You can't complain about that.

 Being in Utah was really refreshing.  We could play at the park and NOT burn our flesh off.  The kids LOVED that.

 Later that night, we prepared to see the fireworks.  My kids, until this time, had never seen large fireworks before.  We have never taken them on the 4th in the valley because they start so late and it's so incredibly hot out.  In Fillmore, they still started late, but not AS late... and it was definitely NOT hot.

 The next day was the Family Reunion!  It didn't have the best outcome, but it was still fun.

 Melanie got to meet some very distant cousins that were approximately her age.  She had so many friends.

 This little girl is Myakota.  She is exactly 2 days older than Melanie and so much fun.  This is my cousin, Lori's, oldest daughter.  Can you tell they had fun together?  Definitely!

 I didn't get any pictures at the dinner that night.  A storm came in, which made the reunion end shorter than I think it would have.  But it was still so much fun.

On Saturday, we took a day trip to Salt Lake.  We went to the Children's Museum and had a lot of fun exploring.

 Oliver made me smile.  He found this baby, and wouldn't let it go.  He just wanted to love on it.

 The water table in this museum is just amazing.  It's huge and so much fun.

 After the museum, we ventured to Temple Square.  There we really enjoyed the temple and other buildings around it.  If you asked my kids their favorite part in Salt Lake... they don't say the museum, they say going to the Temple.  I like hearing that.

 On Sunday, before saying our goodbyes, we took a trip with Uncle Brant.  He told us a lot of stories about my ancestors.  He also took us to see his fish pond.  It was really nice to hear him tell us about my family.  I appreciated the little trip.

 This next picture is of my great grandmother's house.  My great grandfather's dad built it, and he added on to it.  It's just beautiful.  I currently have cousin's living there.

 Before we left, Uncle Brant had to give the kids a ride around his house with the quad.  Fun Times!

Thank you Uncle Brant, for planning a wonderful reunion and hosting our family.  We truly had a good time.
